This past week I attended the Vintage Marketplace at Galway Downs in Temecula. I don’t usually buy anything when I go, but I just love to go. Wandering through all the booths gets my creative juices all stirred up. It’s so cool to see the enthusiasm of the vendors; from procuring their treasures to sell, to creating amazing vignettes, and making something new from something old. Their booths always look amazing. Whether they realize it or not, they are setting excellent examples of following midlife passions.
One of the highlights of attending the Vintage Marketplace is the people you will come across. The vendors at the show are totally immersed in the vintage lifestyle, not just in their product mix, but in how they decorate their booths and in the clothes they wear…all out, head to toe vintage style can be found throughout the show.
Following midlife passions
I met a beautiful local teacher, Miss Colleen from Wild Irish Rose Antiques. While she loves being a teacher during the week, collecting and selling antiques fulfills a creative passion for her that shows in everything she does. A self proclaimed hippy, she was beaming…such a great living, breathing example of following your passion.
And then there are the shoppers…We’re talking serious hustlers who come prepared with rolling carts ready for all their new found goodies. They know the early bird gets the worm and they are determined to leave no worms behind….
