Method
- Measure out your cherries, either fresh pitted or frozen, and place them into the blender.
- Add the cherry juice or syrup, which enhances the flavor and adds sweetness to the slushie.
- Pour in the vodka or your preferred clear spirit to give the slushie a boozy kick.
- Add the ice cubes to the blender, filling it close to the top to achieve a thick, icy texture.
- Spritz in a tablespoon of lemon juice for a hint of brightness that balances the sweetness.
- Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high until the mixture is smooth, thick, and icy, about 30-45 seconds.
- Stop the blender and check the consistency; if it’s too thick, add a splash of water or more cherry juice, then blend briefly again.
- Pour the vibrant red slushie into chilled glasses, ensuring a generous, icy mound on top.
- Garnish with a cherry or a lemon wedge if desired, and serve immediately with a straw or spoon.
Notes
For a sweeter slushie, add more syrup; for a tarter flavor, include extra lemon juice. You can also substitute the vodka with rum or tequila for different boozy profiles.
