Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon oil to the skillet.
Add ground turkey and cook turkey until fully browned with no pink remaining. Transfer to a plate.
In the same skillet, cook diced onion until soft and translucent.
Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
Return the turkey to the skillet.
Add diced tomatoes and chicken broth, stirring to combine.
Stir in cumin, smoked paprika, chipotle powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
Simmer uncovered for 20–40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
Taste and adjust seasoning.
Remove from heat and rest briefly before serving.
