Watermelon Agua Fresca

This agua fresca is made by blending fresh chopped watermelon with lime juice and a pinch of salt to create a thick, slushy beverage. The key ingredients—watermelon, lime, and salt—combine to produce a vibrant, lightly salty and sweet drink with a smooth texture reminiscent of a fruit slush. Final appearance is a vividly pink, frosty liquid ready to serve chilled.

  2. Add the freshly squeezed lime juice and salt to the blender with the watermelon. Secure the lid tightly in place.
    4 cups chopped watermelon
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and thick, with no large chunks remaining. This usually takes about 30-45 seconds. The texture should be slightly viscous and frosty.
  4. Once blended, pour the mixture into a measuring cup or directly into chilled serving glasses. The liquid should be uniformly pink with a slightly slushy appearance.
  5. Serve immediately in glasses, optionally garnished with a small wedge of lime or mint leaves for presentation. The drink should be cold, thick, and refreshing with a vibrant color.

Notes

For a colder drink, chill the watermelon beforehand or add ice cubes during blending. Adjust the amount of lime and salt to taste for desired flavor balance.
