  • 4 cups watermelon flesh, cubed seedless or de-seeded
  • 1 bunch fresh basil leaves about 10 leaves
  • 2 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Method
 

  1. Slice the watermelon into manageable chunks and remove any seeds. Measure out 4 cups of watermelon flesh.

  2. Rinse the basil leaves under cold water and pat dry with a towel. Carefully pluck about 10 leaves from the bunch.

  3. Add watermelon cubes, basil leaves, lime juice, and ice cubes into a high-powered blender. Secure the lid.

  4. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and evenly combined, approximately 30-45 seconds. The basil should be fully integrated but visible as small flecks.
  5. Pour the smoothie into glasses, observing the bright pink color with bits of basil floating throughout. Serve immediately with a straw or garnish if desired.

Notes

For an extra refreshing touch, chill glasses beforehand. Adjust the lime juice to taste for more or less tang.
