Ingredients

  • 4 cups chopped watermelon seedless, ripe
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cumin to add a smoky, savory note
  • 1 pinch chili powder optional, adds heat
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice for brightness
  • 0.5 cup water to blend smoothly

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Chop the watermelon into small chunks on a cutting board using a sharp knife, ensuring all seeds are removed.
  2. Add the watermelon chunks, ground cumin, chili powder (if using), lime juice, and water into a Blender.
  3. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth, with no chunks remaining, approximately 30 seconds.
  4. Check the consistency; it should be thick and silky. If too thick, add a little more water and blend again for a few seconds.
  5. Pour the smoothie into glasses, and serve immediately with optional garnishes like lime wedges or a sprinkle of cumin.
